Zone directory

Zones are the pricing areas rate cards charge against. Every rate entry is a lane between an origin zone and a destination zone, so zones are the foundation the whole pricing model sits on. The directory is under Rates → Zone Directory.

Zones vs zone suburbs

• A zone is a named area (e.g. “Melbourne Metro”, or a specific country town).
• Zone suburbs are the suburb + postcode entries that map into a zone.

A zone can be reachable by name even when it has no suburbs listed — useful for a named lane that doesn’t need a full suburb list.

How zone resolution works

When a booking is priced, the pickup and delivery location are matched to a zone:

  delivery suburb ──►  match by zone NAME  ──►  (found) use it
                         │
                         └─ not found ──►  match by POSTCODE  ──►  zone

Name is matched before postcode, and the most specific (suburb) zone wins. This is important for remote-town pricing: a town with its own named zone resolves to that town’s rate instead of a broad regional one.

Add or edit a zone

1. Click Add zone (or Edit on a zone).
2. Set the name.
3. Attach suburbs / postcodes.
4. Save. You can rename a zone or adjust its suburb list any time.

Remote towns

Keep each remote town as its own named zone with its own rate entry. Because resolution matches by suburb name first, this guarantees the town prices on its specific rate rather than falling into a general country zone.
