Edit a job

Two ways to change a connote — Quick edit in the side drawer for non-pricing details, or Edit booking for anything that affects the price.

There are two ways to change a job after it’s created:

  • Quick edit — inline in the side drawer, for non-pricing details.
  • Edit booking — opens the full Create Booking form in edit mode, for anything that affects the price.
  1. Open /operations/jobs.
  2. Click any row to open the drawer.
  3. In the drawer header, click Quick edit.

The drawer body switches from read-only view to a form; Cancel and Save changes appear in a sticky footer at the bottom.

Quick edit is intentionally non-pricing. It covers:

  • References — customer reference, status.
  • Addresses — pickup and delivery company, address line, suburb, state, postcode. Address edits do not re-price the job — if the change moves it to a different zone, use Edit booking to re-rate.
  • Dates & windows — pickup/delivery dates and time windows.
  • Instructions — pickup, delivery, special, status notes.

Base rate, fuel levy, GST and the option flags are addon-driven and are not in quick edit — change them through Edit booking.

Click Edit booking in the drawer header to open the full Create Booking form in edit mode:

  • Addon-aware — the booking’s stored addon lines render on load.
  • Manual cost lines persist — custom lines added at booking time reappear.
  • Recalculation available — recalculate the rate after changing addresses, cargo, or service level.

Save from the form to update the connote.

Click Save changes in the sticky footer. On success:

  • A Saved toast appears at the bottom-right.
  • The drawer re-opens with the updated read-only view.
  • The Jobs list refreshes so any status badge or date changes appear immediately.

Click Cancel (or press Escape) to discard changes and return to the read-only view. No fetch, no risk of partial save.

If the server rejects the save (for example, an invalid postcode), the toast shows the first few field-level errors and the form stays open so you can fix them.
