Custody chain
Where pallets physically went, whether or not paper changed hands.
The custody chain shows pallets physically moving — loaded onto a truck, unloaded at a dock, transferred between depots.
Custody does not change a balance. A pallet sitting in your yard does not alter what a hire company says you owe; only a docket does that. If the yard and the paper disagree, that is real information, not a bug.
Following a chain
Section titled “Following a chain”You need something to follow — an account, a connote or a docket. Without one this would be every movement ever recorded, which answers nothing.
Each row shows direction (in or out), quantity, brand, location and a running balance down the page, so you can see where a count started diverging rather than only that it did.
Where movements come from
Section titled “Where movements come from”- Recording a docket writes movements automatically — up to two, one for pallets out and one for pallets in.
- Drivers capture movements from the mobile app when loading or unloading.
- Transfers write one movement on dispatch and another on receipt.
A movement with no docket behind it is normal — a driver loading pallets has moved custody without any paper being signed. The docket comes later, if it comes at all.
