Inter-depot transfers
Moving your own pallets between your own locations.
A transfer moves your own stock between your own depots. It never changes an account balance — nothing is owed to anyone differently because a stack moved from Melbourne to Sydney. Only where it sits changes.
The states
Section titled “The states”pending → in transit → receivedCancel is available until the pallets are received.
| Action | What it records |
|---|---|
| Dispatch | Pallets left the origin. Writes a movement out. |
| Receive | Pallets arrived. Writes a movement in. |
| Cancel | Needs a reason, kept on the record. |
Each step writes its own custody movement, so a transfer sitting in transit for a fortnight shows up as a visible gap rather than a number that quietly never arrived.
Cancelling something already in transit
Section titled “Cancelling something already in transit”The dispatch movement stays. The pallets did leave — erasing that would lose the fact that they are somewhere. What the cancellation records is that they are not arriving where they were headed.
Transfer numbers
Section titled “Transfer numbers”Unique while the transfer is live. Cancel one and its number can be reused.
