Create a quote

Build a priced quote for a customer across one or more service levels, then convert it to a booking.

Create Quote builds a priced offer for a customer — typically across several service levels so they can compare before committing. It’s under Quotes → Create Quote (/operations/create-quote).

  • Use Create Quote when the customer is weighing options or hasn’t committed yet.
  • Use Create Booking when they’ve already committed and you just need to enter the job.

A quote can later be approved to create the booking automatically — no re-keying.

The fields mirror Create Booking:

  1. Customer — who the quote is for (this also scopes which rate cards apply).
  2. Pickup & delivery — the route by suburb/postcode.
  3. Cargo — items with weight, dimensions, packaging, quantity, and any dangerous goods.
  4. Options — tailgate, fuel levy, and other services.

This is the key difference from a booking: you can price several service levels at once.

  1. Tick all the service levels you want (Standard, Express, Hot Shot…).
  2. Click Calculate Rate.
  3. The pricing section shows one priced row per service level.

Pricing uses the same engine as bookings — customer rate cards first, zones, oversize handling, and add-ons (fuel levy, GST). See Rate cards & pricing and Service levels.

Save/send the quote to the customer. When they accept:

  1. Open the quote and click Approve.
  2. A new connote is created with the details copied across — including the accepted service level’s rate — and appears on the Jobs list as Pending.

The quote stays APPROVED as the audit trail. Full flow: Quotes.

For lanes you quote often, start from a quote template to pre-fill the route, cargo, and options.
